Saturday
1) In the morning, dad decided to take a half an hour drive all the way to the Dandenong Ranges to have breakfast. We went with Aunty Chin Moi, Uncle Ing Tung and their kids. It was really fun as me, JD and Joy played mastermind during breakfast (scones, pancakes and hot chocolate! Yum! ^^) and then Samuel (who is an adorable little toddler) started playing with dogs that were being walked on the Ranges. And then, of course, we went crazy in the lolly shop!! (What else? >.<)
2) Another old folks home visit. We played bingo (surprisingly fun and cool!) with the oldies. Later, we just started talking to other oldies and Shuway taught me to sign using alphabets!
3) Visiting Sarah in the hospital. Last Tuesday, Sarah fractures her toe in two places when she slipped. Apparently, it had four holes (thanks to the doctor putting in numb stuff), was fractured in 2 places and a few tendons were broken. She had to have surgery on Saturday, so we visited her after going to the Old Folks Home. Uncle Ben (the “tau ke” of youth) had some chocolates, and we found a huge deflated Winnie-The-Pooh ballon on the stairs, so we picked it up, blew it up and gave it to her. ^^ Smart, eh?
Wednesday
Highschoolers day out!!! It was awesome, fantastic, best fun, hilarious and insert other great comment here!!! We played tons of games like minefield and team tag, but I’ll only explain the gate-keeper’s game (Go Shuway!!)
There were five stages, and a clue to each stage. Each station was run by a leader (except Shuway, she was the gatekeeper). The clue was the person in charge of the station. My team (Japanese Peach – Josh, Gavin, Andre, June, Jordan and me) won of course. ^^
Abe’s Station
Clue:
a-e-i-o-u
yi-er-san-she-wo
I don’t work out in my labs
But I still have the biggest abs
Hiding place: inside a huge tree (it was huge! like a small room)
Activity: There was a bowl in which was filled with flour and a ping pong ball. We had to blow the flour, then the ball out. Let’s just say I finally washed my glasses when we came back. We took turns to blow the flour.
Rachel’s Station
Clue:
You just won’t believe I’m a sports fanatic.
Hiding Place: behind a bush
Activity: Flour, again! A bucket was filled with to brin with flour, and hidden within was mentos!! We had to use our feet to get the menthos out. In our team, me, Andre and Jordan did it! We got a ton of points and we won in this activity.
Eugene’s Station
Clue:
Something about my name is profound and the alpha and omega. I can’t remember.
We solved the clue by going Eugene – alpha and omega letters are the same!!
Hiding Place: a small gazebo (not really hidden)
Activity: Butt writing. We were told a word (quite hard to spell) and had to spell it out with our butts! (all of us) Our word was photosynthesis. The other teams got magnetic-hydraulic something and paraphenalia (sp?)
Ray’s Station
Clue:
Something about monkeys and running across Africa. (He runs fast)
Hiding Place: In a tree (As in on top of a tree) (See what I mean by monkey?)
Activity: Spitbean – we had to spit beans through a straw and hit a metal gong. Our team got 57 hits (time limit: 5 minutes) but I couldn’t get any! Go Josh! He did most work in this one, and we won!! ^^
Samhu’s Station
Clue:
Errr.. I’ll try to remember
I’m not afraid of creatures big or small
Not afraid of giants short or tall…
Can’t remember the rest .
Hiding Place: Picnic Tables, but he wasn’t really hidden
Activity: Skulling soft drinks through 5 straws. Jordan saved us in this, and skulled a ton!! Go Jordan!
~End of station explanation~
